Magnificent Minecraft

kia ora bloggers,

In literacy, we have been learning about the yellow stone national park in America and how the wolfs had a trophic cascade on the environment of yellow stone. Originally yellow stone was baren because there were no wolves which meant that there were no greenery or life. Then the wolves came along and regenerated the park and brought life the pulled in many more animals and the park flourished once again.

Our task was to make a two Minecraft world one before the wolves where reintroduced and after they where. then we had to make a tour on each world I was only able to do one so here is a link to the video.

Super Science

 Kia ora bloggers,

In writing, we have been doing science experiments and then writing a scientific report on the experiment. We have done four experiments and I'll tell you about one of the most interesting today. The experiments we did were does broken up aspirin dissolve faster than normal aspirin?, What liquid melts ice fastest?, Why does water melt ice quicker than salt water? And my personal favorite do other carbonated drinks react with mentos? And that is the exciting experiment we are talking about today.

The carbonated drinks we used were diet lift, sprite, diet lemonade, and for the control diet coke. Have you ever done a coke and mentos experiment? See you next time and have a good day.

oil catstrafey

Hello kiwi's,

Oil is in and around our world, even in places you wouldn’t imagine. We use oil for cooking but we also use crude oil. The pumping and transporting of crude oil around the globe often have environmental effects. We have looked at various texts and videos to learn about some of these effects, and it ‘good’ timing as there was a recent oil spill (24 July 2020) in Mauritius that we could investigate.
Check out my video to learn more about oil, and see the simulation we did in class about cleaning oil from water.

do you know of any oil spill's? See you next time bye.
