Super sea side city

Today we got a choice of 8 can do's, the one I chose was making a coastal city in Minecraft. We had to include these three things in our city: an underground waterway, Aquifers and ways to recycle water. Then we were allowed to create whatever we wanted. I  am proud of what I built and how it came out.

today we have been tasked to watch the fish of Maui without dialogue and we had to add a script to it and then pick out of three websites to put our script on I choose a website called voki. in voki you pick a character and design him and then add the text or record your voice here is mine.

in literacy, we have been working on speeches. We were tasked to make a speech on our native birds and then we got a choice to present it digitally or orally I chose digitally. My speech is about 1080 and how we need it to protect our native birds. I videoed myself reading my speech and here it is.

Majestic Matariki kites

On the 2 July, we celebrated the Māori New Year, a time to consider the year ahead. The days are starting to lengthen and spring will soon be here, we just need to get through this cold winter first!
 
Matariki and the Pleiades star cluster, have got many stories attached to them. We looked at two; one about how Ranginui and Papatuanuku were separated by Tāne Mahuta, and how Tāwhirimatea was so angry he ripped out his eyes and threw thunderbolts to the sky, creating the cluster, and another story about 7 sisters making kites, and them going to the sky. 

Ururangi’s kite was different from the rest, it was rainbow coloured. We have mixed these two stories to create the design of our kites.
        
My kite has Taniwha and then I have covered it with clouds. I then coloured it in like a rainbow.

Awsome Matariki Art

we have been learning about Matariki and we were tasked to make an art piece. 

1. we started with finding the place meant by the stars.
2. then we made a draft on a piece of paper but we had to do it backwards so that when it prints it is the right way round.
3. then we got a piece of foam and put our design on it after we did that we went into that maker space. to print then we would pick our colours then roll them onto our piece of foam.
4. then we got a piece of paper and put the foam underneath so that the colours could transfer to the paper.
5. then you would repeat that until you get one you like.
6. after that, you get a big piece of paper and some cardboard with a square cut out in the middle. 
7. then you get your piece of paper and put the cardboard on it and mark out a square on the paper.
8. then you get a ruler and put it on the line you have made and cut it out.
9. then you glue it to your chosen picture and write your signature.
10. Boom you are done.

             And after that, you get this.

We have been learning about nouns and collective nouns we were tasked to find collective nouns for animals and take those literally. So for a barrel of monkeys, you make a bunch of monkeys in a barrel. I have made a small presentation on ten of these types of collective nouns.

Today we were tasked to protect an egg from a high fall my group was not able to protect the egg barely any groups were actually able to protect it only two groups were actually able to protect it. I had a lot of fun doing this experiment but there was a lot of things that we could have done better and here are some of them.

today in literacy we learn about adaptation which is where an animal adapts and evolves to its environment 

there are three tips of adaptation physical which is something you can see behavioural which is some that changes in your actions and physiological which is something that happens inside you. after we did that we were tasked to make a d.l.o of how-to types of birds have similar and different adaptation the birds I pick where the kiwi and moa here is my presentation.

Horifing Holocaust

Over the term, we have been working on a site about the holocaust and a chosen question this stared from us reading the book once then we took that information and made some questions on the holocaust then we reaserched those questions and then took them and put them on a site.

The question that I chose was about the liberators, a person who liberates a person or place from imprisonment or oppression. then we hade to make questions about that topic who were the liberators? what are liberators? when did the Nazis get defeated? how did people find Auschwitz? why did Germany lose? where was the first camp that first got liberated?.

he completly regected straight lines and only youses curves also some more of his signater thing are terdrops, lolly pop trees, floting eyes, rows of houses, onion domes hiding faces and spirals. There is also a spersific colour palet it is Analogous colours and Complimentary colours. Complimentary colours are colours that are across from each other. In literacy, we were tasked to find out what the science is behind Yanny and laurel? this is a viral video all over the internet and many people have different opinions on what they hear and few people hear both. I'm one of those people who can hear both but more about the video not me. 

The video is actually distorted and people who have been put out to loud noise most of there life they or are older will probably hear laurel. This because the ears hear low frequencies more than high frequencies. So that mean that if you ears hear high frequencies more you will hear yanny. 

Depending on the device or headphones you wear it will actually effect what you her If you have something that picks up low frequencies or attenuates the high frequencies it will change the way you hear the sound.

last week we went to camp in Wainui and we did fun activites like kaycking,coastering and may others but my favourtie was high ropes and i made a video of my trip there.
